LEAVE A NOTE......

"What were you doing in the forest?" she asked.
"Oh, just leaving a note," I replied.
"A note in the woods? " she questioned.
And she followed that with, "Was it a big red note, by chance?"
"As a matter of fact, it was big and red," I said.
Seems she got my message.

LAPIS LAZULI TREE

"No," she said, "it does not exist."
"Yes it does," I countered. "I've seen the blue leaves."
I tried to explain, that strange science stuff about the
gemstones in the soill, the tree roots taking up the
blue color and producing those blue leaves.
But she was insistent.
I showed her the picture.
"You just photo-shopped that!" she cried.
"No I didn't," I said. "It's a real Lapis Lazuli Tree!!"

At the 9th Hole......

"Pine trees do not eat golf balls," she said.
I didn't want to argue, so I moved on.
"Sand is alive," I said, "That's how it works against you."
She just looked off to the side and replied,
"It's just an expensive way of playing marbles, anyway."

PASTURE BEDTIME.....

"How long can we stay?" she asked.
"Maybe 'till the cows home," I suggested.
"When is that exactly?" she queried.
"Oh, certainly well past your bedtime," I responded.
She looked out over the field and the questions stopped.

HERE & THERE

"Did you see the hawk again?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied.
"Where exactly?" I said, planning to track these sightings.
"Oh, here and there," was her answer.
"You know, here, and then, there or thereabouts" she added.
"Not really close to the GPS coordinates I need," I thought to myself.
"Absolutely," she said, having apparently read my mind.

MOOSE......

"Go ahead," I suggested, "just say it slowly."
"No, I can't," she replied. "It sounds so silly."
"That's the point," I suggested, "no matter how silly."
"She knows her name.    Say it slowly and she will come."
Then I thought, "Or she might charge.  Maybe run you down."
"But can she cross that space to here that quickly?" I asked.
Getting no response, I turned and found myself alone.

BUTTERCUPS......

"Why do they both have the same name??" she inquired.
"That way, there's no confusion," I answered,
"and besides, these Belted Galloways don't recognize
the name itself, but the sound and the noise you make."
Oreo cookie cows grazing in a field in Rockport, ME.
Just makes you start talking crazy talk anyway.
