MOOSE......

"Go ahead," I suggested, "just say it slowly."
"No, I can't," she replied. "It sounds so silly."
"That's the point," I suggested, "no matter how silly."
"She knows her name.    Say it slowly and she will come."
Then I thought, "Or she might charge.  Maybe run you down."
"But can she cross that space to here that quickly?" I asked.
Getting no response, I turned and found myself alone.

BUTTERCUPS......

"Why do they both have the same name??" she inquired.
"That way, there's no confusion," I answered,
"and besides, these Belted Galloways don't recognize
the name itself, but the sound and the noise you make."
Oreo cookie cows grazing in a field in Rockport, ME.
Just makes you start talking crazy talk anyway.

Exaggeration......

"Then who did it?" she asked.
"Certainly not the geese," I replied,
"Tho they have been there awhile."
"That would take a lot of geese," she
estimated, "an awful, awful lot."
"Heh, the geese we see are only the
tip of the iceberg," I said, "but still,
at least they piled it up nicely."

Tied Up.......

"We can meet later," she said, hurriedly.
"I'm just really tied up right now."
And just like that, the connection was dial-tone.
I'm thinking it would have sounded better
as an email and not a phone call.
An email ending with a dial-tone sound.
I'm working on it. I've dropped everything else.

In the Shadows........

"There's no such thing" she insisted.
"Just because you haven't seen one,"
I countered, "doesn't mean they don't exist."
"They look just like regular owls," I said,
"except for their beaks, which look really weird."
Vampire owls.  The new screech in the night.

Easter Island....

"No, they're not big stone rabbits, silly," she said with a smirk.
"Yes they are," I replied, "Theo sent me a postcard!!!"
"I would have seen it on the web, or least in a TV documentary
if that was the case," she reaffirmed in her especially annoying way.
"It's the kind of thing they do not want the general public to know,"
I countered, as I handed her the picture postcard (see below).
She glanced at the card, then quickly tore it to shreds and stomped off.
"Ahhh, alone at last," I thought to myself, "almost like on an island."

Bump In The Road........

"We're not going to get there any time soon,"
she growled, "Not at this slow pace."
"Faster, faster, pick up the speed," she yelled.
I could see the road ahead, the upcoming bump.
Her attention was directed solely at me.
I kept quiet.   And increased the speed.
Up, over the bump we went.
Her head hit the roof of our car.
She said something, but I was laughing too hard to hear.
